Favourite Authors: Jane Roberts

Jane Roberts was somewhat ahead of her time. She was one of the first people in 20th Century North America to go public with her experiences of being a "channel" for the words of a non-physical entity named Seth.

Nothing in her training as a young academic had prepared her for such an experience. Her strong background as a rigorous researcher was in conflict with her strange experiences. She tried to find "rational scientific" explanations for the experiences she was having.

Over time, with the support of her husband Robert Butts, she developed a routine. Each week at a designated time, she would go into a trance state and begin to "channel" information from Seth. Her husband would take verbatim notes, and transcribe them laboriously. Jane Roberts was always interested to read the transcribed notes, because she did not have a memory of the words as they were spoken during her trance sessions.

Over the years, Jane Roberts and Robert Butts published a number of books recording messages from Seth. Here are two of our favorites, both currently in print.

These are classics. Adventures in Consciousness was among the first books that helped Bonnie awaken to her spiritual journey. Karen enjoyed the way it stretched her mind. The Oversoul Seven fiction series is delightful and profound. Enjoy!
